What To Expect

Make your own way to the meeting point in the center of Dublin. Meet your guide and small group of fellow travelers and head south toward the Wicklow Mountains, passing by Great Sugar Loaf mountain and descending through Ireland's highest village, Roundwood on your way to Glendalough.

Make a short stop at one of the most photographed locations in Wicklow, Lough Tay, before continuing to Glendalough Monastic Settlement. You have plenty of time here to explore the Glendalough valley, its Celtic crosses, round tower, and scenic lakes, and to take a short walk on the Wicklow Way, which runs through the valley.

Your tour ends back at the meeting point in central Dublin.

We missed our bus but one of the people from the paddywagon walked us to the next stop while the bus waited which was really nice of them. The tour guide was really friendly and knowledgeable. The views were amazing and we had plenty of time to walk around and take in the landscape

Great driver and professionalism- good communication. Enjoyed the experience even though heavy snow did limit attractions . The views were stunning in the snow and will go back on a sunnier day

Great half day trip. Liam (the driver / guide) was excellent - funny and informative. It’s a short but scenic ride and then you get to spend the majority of your time walking around a beautiful valley. Well worth it. Do not be late to the bus, they are prompt.

Travelers need to wear good water resistant hiking shoes. Also, be prepared with a camera for the views are breathtakingly beautiful.

You can take a regular bus there, but why would you do that when you can have a comfortable bus ride with a knowledgeable driver that gives you great local facts and history.

The tour guide was amazing and funny. Made it more amazing by playing our favourite Irish song and gave my daughter a little shout out. Will be doing this again next time we visit Ireland.

Richard, our driver and tour guide, was awesome. I loved the site - even though the weather wasn’t great it was still totally worth it. Loved the walk and the history. And they are not kidding. Do NOT be late to the bus however lol
Challenging but pleasant
MargueriteS, Nov 2024
We arrived to the pickup area at 8:02 in time to watch the bus pull away. The instructions for pickup were not clear and we learned upon arrival that none of the buses were labeled by destination, so you must go into the shop “Paddy Wagon” to have staff direct you. After suggesting that staff reschedule us to the 1:30 tour (our idea, not theirs) we returned in the afternoon and were told they were unsure which bus was ours and we should go ask the drivers. The tour from then on was not overly eventful, we visited a state park and were given one hour and a half to walk around as the driver would leave promptly at 4:30 due to it being dark. The driver was pleasant enough and tried his best to entertain the passengers. He was kind enough to tell us several times that he would not wait and that we would be left behind if we returned to the bus one minute past 4:30.
A fun and interesting experience
